…DESPUES DE CIEN AÑOS!

Hello everyone!

Depués de cien años (after one hundred years!!!) here are some photo updates from the garden. We have been eating arugula, lettuce, spinach, bok choy, and chard from the garden since late May. I just harvest 2 huge bags of chard and a bag of lettuce. This afternoon I took a walk down to the garden around 7 pm, the light is perfect then, and the day is slightly cooler. There were loads of people at the park, playing basketball, walking dogs, soccer matches and T ball games. There was a group of little girls, dressed mostly in pink playing outside the community garden. I asked them if they wanted to come in and see our plot and help me water. It was really fun to watch them observe the plants, and really get into the watering task. We spoke in spanish and sampled some early raspberries and late strawberries.

Here are some images of the garden from the past month.

We’re getting to the point with the chard now that we give it away to neighbors just crossing our fingers that they actual want it/will eat it.
